The manifestation of the body can also be reflected in pain, many times it is not reflected in that moment it is something that will come over time.

This is a photograph of the Colombian photographer Luis Carlos Ayala in the Plaza de Bolivar, in the middle of the demonstrations, the model in the photograph is the dancer and entrepreneur Natalia Castro Alvarez.

The image shows female empowerment, disagreement with the state and art in a single photograph causing a stir on social networks for the force it transmits and an icon of the same struggle.

in the words of the same author.

Ayala, L. C. [@Luiscarlos85]. (2020, 18 september). “For a long time I have had a fascination for contrasting this art, ballet, with scenes and scenarios far from the cult of theater tables and the "cultured" music with which it is usually associated. I took this photo and I never thought it would become real, beyond my head”. [intagram post]. instagram. https://www.instagram.com/p/CFTRn_GlA-u/

The poetess of the sanber

Ayala, L. C. (2020, 22 December). The poetess of the sanber [Photography]. https://www.instagram.com/p/CJHuiNGlTFU/?igshid=zl1maaqb55tw

The San Berdino XVI neighborhood or better known as sanber, is a neighborhood of Bogotá darkened by violence but also contains many inhabitants with moments and stories to tell. As is the case with Nancy, the poetess of the sanber, woman we see in the photograph of Luis Carlos Ayala. In this image we can see the passage of time, and an insatiable internal struggle, a path with no fixed direction but with her feet on the ground, and a woman who has struggled every day of her life, but why the poetess of the sanber? the story behind this image is told by Luis in his publication.

Ayala, L. C. [@Luiscarlosa85]. (2020, 22 december). "With a broken voice Nancy, the poet of the sanber, a maginalized neighborhood of the capital of Colombia, recites a poem that she wrote in jail while paying a sentence for attempted murder (while defending herself from the one who was a sentimental partner who beat her) And what does she say, it has been one of the few moments of tranquility that she has had in her life, being in a cell" [instagram post]. sileced,  I don't look prettier

Ayala, L. C. (2018, 8 March). Sileced, I don’t look prettier. [Photography]. Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/p/CMH0jrIFsr1/

sileced,  I don't look prettier. The power of Luis's camera reaches not only feminism but also the defense of the rights of trans women, beautiful warrior women marginalized by the opinions of many people in society, judged by their sexuality. The power of the photo is not simply a criticism of imposed social customs where the woman must be clean and pure until marriage, if not also to the free will of sexuality.

And the message that this beautiful model leaves us.
Ayala, L.C. [@luiscarlos85]. (2018, 8 marzo). "N. N" we shout from the corners where we work, from the heels that empower us, from the streets where we parade, we demand our rights.
We whores shout from our corners, clubs, studios, brothels and whiskey shops that we are fed up with being called the women "of the easy life" because it is not easy to bear all the insults of society, I vindicate "my sex, my rules" and YES, EVEN THOUGH THEY WANT TO DENY ME, I AM ALSO A FEMINIST![Instagram post]. Recruited to assassinate

Ayala, L. C. (2020b, December 21).  recruited to assassinate [Instagram post]. Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/p/CJFFlRulEZZ/

A h   A eartbreaking story, but not very far from reality. Thousands of young Colombians are forced by necessity, the street is hell in its own flesh and survival is the greatest challenge, if you don't starve, they kill you; In the image we can clearly see the decline of life on the streets, each brand is a process, a struggle and one more day living and dying. I could tell you a version of the story of this man who at 14 was recruited to be a hit man but it is better to know it from his own words.

Ayala, L. C. [@luiscarlosa85]. (2020, 21 december). Luis Carlos, I had to kill many, many people. When I was with the paramilitaries, I had to sting, dismember, sometimes I was alive. They left us 5 or 6 days without food and well, in the middle of work, sometimes you had to remove pieces of meat from those bodies and eat.[Instagram post]. Today’s soup

I think that the image itself generates melancholy; but the background is even more heartbreaking when an image hits you like this and you realize its power. Luis tells us the same in his publication which I doubt whether to upload it or not. Luis does not generate "misery porn", he simply tells through photography what many do not want to see or tell.

Luis tells us: Ayala, L. C. [@luiscarlosa85]. (2020, 21 julio). 21Jul. Quarantine? Independence? In the park of the third millennium, for the seventh time, the Embera community arrived and was evicted from several houses where they were located to pass the quarantine. I thought a lot to upload this photo (the first) that brought out mixed emotions and sensations, I understand that there are limits to things, but it is a reality and I think it is necessary to show what is happening. This woman from the community gives her daughter water in a cup and has a piece of banana inside, I ask him why he puts the banana in the water and he replies "it's today's soup. I looked at her and the sadness in her eyes almost made me break there. [Instagram post]. Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/p/CC7fEzVjULp/

Where is home?

Ayala, L. C. (2020, 7 May). Where is home? [Photography]. Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/p/B_7r3gKlo1l/

The body manifests in some way many experiences lived and in turn its pain, Each journey shows that each step that is taken is a struggle, many times that reflection of what has been lived is not seen at the moment and it will be seen over time but that does not take away the effort that it takes.

Luis Carlos tells us the anecdote of 370 Embera indigenous people who were forcibly removed from the candelaria where they were taking refuge in quarantine.
Ayala, L.C. [@luiscarlos85]. (2020, 7 mayo). In the afternoon, the secretary of security and the local mayor in a "concerted dialogue" gave them 40 minutes to get out of there or they took them out with the esmad and the police. At the moment that the Embera leaders returned to speak within the group, some policemen crossed and tried to stop them, some responded with a couple of stones, an agent took out a taser and pointed at the indigenous people and a photographer, a high command was at him approaches and removes it from there saying "Get out of here, he was wrong to get that out" [Intagram post]. Resistance aesthetics

Ayala, L. C. (2020, 5 February). Resistance aesthetics [Photography]. Instragram. https://www.instagram.com/p/B8NQpk1l9AQ/

Resistance is what we have the most, to resist to advance,  we can see the fear, melancholy and anger in a single glance of this young Colombian protester, what is he looking for? what is always sought, justice, and for that there are a thousand reasons.

Ayala, L. C. [@luiscarlosa85]. (2020, 5 febrero)."Anger, I think anger is what moves me the most to go out. Knowing that everything in this country is so unfair, knowing that we are in the hands of people who do not care at all about us. Knowing that our old people they are dying working for a pension that will never arrive, knowing that they kill our social leaders, or anyone who opposes and gets tired, that makes me very angry and that's why I go out " [Instagram post]. No sir! Here it’s time to fight

Ayala, L. C. (2021, 24 April). No sir! Here it’s time to fight [Photography]. Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/p/COG-abhlUci/

the passage of time is formed in the skin, but also in experiences the character is formed through difficulties, and from each difficulty there is learning.

It looks like a nice portrait of an  women , right? she is white andrade, a higher of the Nasa people who, before their outrage at the murder of Governor Sandra Liliana Peña Chocue, recite the following words

Ayala, L. C. [@luiscarlosa85]. (2021, 24 abril). We will have to do the impossible if it is  necessary to coverthe Panamericana one year, we will cover it. They already took the fucking  out of us and here is fighting. That is not that we are going to go legal and send conversation as the bride and groom. No sir! Here is to fight and if they kill us, let's see if they kill all the Indians. In five hundred years they came and they did not finish, I believe that now they will not finish us either. Some will stay, stay, I invite men with great force in that because now they have already touched women. If they touch women, it is like touching the whole family. Thank you"[Instagram post]. Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/p/COG-abhlUci/

Art as a process of healing

Ayala, L. C. (2021, 8 July). Art as a process of healing [Photography]. Instagram. https://instagram.com/p/CNbL5dgFONQ/

No matter what land you step on, art will always follow in your footsteps to follow your path. Culture is part of your integrity as a human, you will never know how magical your talents are and how wonderful you are, you just have to discover yourself.
This teaches us Aurora who was forcibly displaced from Tumaco, being forced to settle in Soacha, and she getting ahead thanks to his folklore which gave him resistance in the face of difficulties

Ayala, L. C. [@luiscarlosa85]. (2021, 8 abril). Aurora was born and raised in Tumaco. It was displaced  in 1995. It arrived in Soacha in 2006, due to threats and violence, which has always been experienced in the Colombian Pacific. As the situation was complicated, he had to work in family homes doing cleaning. In 2015, together with other singers, they founded Echembelé in Ciudad Bolívar (Bogotá). where also discovered his singing skills. It is then that art becomes his process of healing and resistance to the different types of violence that he continues to witness. [Instagram].
